About the speaker

Dr Justyna Dabrowska is a lecturer and Head of International Finance Department at the State School of Applied Science in Oświęcim, Poland. Prior to her current position, Justyna worked as Head of Innovation at Manchester Science Park (MSP). She supported growth of approx. 200 companies based on the park. She ran Manchester International Innovation Centre and was responsible for projects at regional and international level to foster collaboration with stakeholders, universities, support innovation and attract inward investment to the park. Justyna also worked on many evaluation studies and was involved in a number of benchmarking exercises against other science parks in the UK and abroad. She helped define strategies and design business plans for science parks as well as other science and technology-oriented organisations. 

Prior to taking up the post at MSP, Justyna worked for Innova SpA Technology Transfer and Valorisation in Rome, Italy. She was involved in the policy formulation process and implementation of innovation strategies in five Newly Associated Countries (NAC) regions. During this time, she also worked on the IRE (Innovating Regions in Europe) good practice scheme, evaluating regional schemes, actions and measures, which were related to research and innovation. 

In addition to her current job, Justyna has been working as an independent consultant and has served as a member of board of directors for an SME. She lived and worked in four European countries, she likes new challenges and cultural experiments.

She holds a PhD in policy research on Engineering, Science and Technology from Manchester Business School. She is fluent in English, French, Polish and Italian.
