Background information

ZGC Softwarre Park, known as Zpark, is a specialized high tech park that focuses on software R&D / IT outsourcing. It is located in China’s Silicon Valley Zhongguancun, Beijing.

Established at the beginning of 2001, it began the development of phase 2 in 2011, with a total construction area of 3 million m2 in a design based on the idea of a “floating island in the forest sea”. Ecology is a key concern: the green coverage of phase 1 is almost 60%, with building height limited to 13 meters.

Zpark is home to 726 domestic and multinational software companies such as Oracle, IBM, Thomson Reuters and domestic innovative software companies such as Hanvon Technology, Dayang Technology, Xinwei Telecom, Lenovo, Baidu, Sina,Tencent, Venusetech, China Unionpay, Sugon etc, including 67 listed companies. It is also home to many leading enterprises in energy, traffic, communication, finance, and defense, employing around 78,000 professionals. 

Resident companies compete in international markets, and have set up 225 overseas branches and 33 foreign-funded enterprises. They have registered over 46k patents and other intellectual properties created by domestic companies in Zpark, including prizes from National Science & Technology Progress Awards.

There are 10 incubators in Zpark, supporting a total of approximately 800 startups. To date the park has accumulatively incubated 700 enterprises, 10 of whom are now listed in the stock market, and has also attracted 160 startups by returnees.
