DDS Diagnostic is a Romanian company that produced and brought into the market the first rapid tests for detecting the SARS CoV2 antigen, and for the differential detection of the IgM and IgG Covid-19 antibodies. The company put all the resources of its research department into developing highly performant with great accuracy tests for the qualitative determination of the COVID-19 Antigen and of the IgM and IgG Antibodies.

The COVID-19 diagnostic tests were brought into the market after sustained clinical studies were conducted on biological samples from patients in Romania.

Parallel tests were performed, from the same biological sample, using the RT-PCR method and by chemiluminiscence methods, on analysers, in clinical laboratories. The results correlation and the statistical calculations showed excellent analytical performances of the quick tests, with a low detection limit, and with high accuracy.

Rapid tests offer speed, reliability and quick responses to isolate COVID cases, which is still crucial to slow down the spread of the pandemic. Testing remains a key pillar in controlling and mitigating the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, even after rolling out the COVID vaccines. Scaling up the testing capacity using rapid diagnostic kits in parallel with the vaccination is meant to keep the virus under control.
