As any successful organisation knows, strategy plays a vital role in driving development and growth. Regularly revisiting strategic plans allows organisations not only to stay aligned with their core mission and objectives, but also to adapt to changing circumstances, improve management practices, and enhance long-term success.
In this month’s edition of our “Question of the Month”, we asked IASP members whether their Areas of Innovation (AOIs), Innovation Districts (IDs), or Science and Technology Parks (STPs) had recently reviewed their organisational strategy. The responses reveal a clear commitment across the network to thoughtful, ongoing strategic development.
A majority of respondents (59.3%) confirmed that they had recently revisited their organisation’s strategy. Another 22.2% said they hadn’t done so yet, but planned to in the near future. Meanwhile, 11.1% reported that they had not updated their strategy recently, noting that their current plan remains relevant and effective. A further 7.4% are still in the early stages of implementation, as they are new organisations working with their first strategic plans.
These results underscore the importance IASP members place on strategic reflection and agility. Whether refining established plans or laying the groundwork for future growth, members continue to prioritise strategic alignment as a key to innovation and resilience.
