New IASP Latin America Division President elected

IASP is pleased to announce that Janelle Castrellón (Ciudad del Saber, Panama) has been elected by absolute majority as the new President of the IASP Latin American Division.

She takes over from Adriana Ferreira da Faria (Brazil) who we thank for her dedication and contributions to the division.

Janelle Castrellón is an innovation ecosystem builder at Ciudad del Saber (CDS) in Panama, a science and technology park that drives social change through humanism, science, and business and since its early beginnings has been a member of IASP. Having been there for 23 years, Janelle has been part of the evolution of Ciudad del Saber  helping shape it into a vibrant ecosystem that brings together universities, research centers, companies, government, entrepreneurs and international organizations.  She also leads the CDS Study Abroad program, which connects international universities with real-world innovation actors on campus, creating experiential learning opportunities and open innovation.

Janelle Castrellón commented: "I am honored to have been elected Presidency of the IASP Latin America Division. Through my work at Ciudad del Saber in Panama, I have had the opportunity to contribute to the development of an innovative ecosystem that connects universities, tech companies, government initiatives and international organizations. I seek to strengthen collaboration among science parks and innovation districts across Latin America, promote greater visibility for our region within the global IASP network and encourage more opportunities for exchange, partnerships and joint initiatives among members. I believe that by working more closely together, we can continue building a stronger and more connected innovation community."
