Ethiopian IT Park

The Ethiopian ICT Park, also known as the Ethiopian IT Park, is a major technology and innovation hub. It was established by the Ethiopian Government in 2010 through the Information Technology Park Corporation (ITPC) with the aim of positioning Ethiopia as a leading centre for ICT development and digital business in Africa.

The park covers approximately 200 hectares and provides infrastructure, office space, and land for technology companies, startups, and business process outsourcing (BPO) firms. It is organised into dedicated zones for business operations, ICT manufacturing and assembly, and support services. Currently, the Ethiopian ICT Park hosts 86 local and international companies operating in areas such as software development, ICT services, and digital solutions.

In addition, the park operates a business incubator that supports 10 active incubatees, providing early-stage startups with mentoring, training, and access to resources to help them grow and scale their businesses.

The park plays a key role in fostering innovation, creating employment opportunities, and promoting the export of ICT-enabled services. It also encourages collaboration between government, academia, and industry while attracting investment in data centres, telecommunications, and software development. Major tenants include Raxio Data Centre and Wingu Africa, both of which operate Tier III-certified data centres, significantly strengthening Ethiopia's digital infrastructure and cloud computing capabilities.Among the park's key advantages are its competitive land and rental costs, access to a large and young workforce, and its strategic location close to Addis Ababa's transport and communications networks. As a flagship initiative of Ethiopia's digital transformation strategy, the Ethiopian ICT Park is playing a central role in advancing the country's ambition to become a leading regional hub for technology, innovation, and digital services.
