The Greek government has officially approved the establishment and development of IASP member, Thess INTEC, the country’s first 4th generation innovation and technology center, marking a great milestone for the national Greek innovation ecosystem.
The Joint Ministerial Decision (JMD) includes full urban, business and environmental licensing, enabling the immediate launch of infrastructure works and the activation of investment agreements. Located in Thessaloniki, Thess INTEC represents a strategic initiative at the intersection of research, technology, and entrepreneurship.
In addition to the park itself, the licensing also covers two infrastructure projects to be implemented by the Region of Central Macedonia. On one hand, a flood protection project to safeguard the wider Perea area, and on the other hand, a new external roadworks connecting Thess INTEC to the region’s broader transport network.
Nikos Efthymiadis, President and CEO of Thess INTEC, highlighted: “As of today, our country has a fully licensed and well planned Research and Technology Center, in a particularly strategic location, ready to be immediately exploited by the Greek and international investment community. The completion of the Centre’s establishment process makes it possible to start the construction of the infrastructure, which is essential for the progress of investment agreements with interested venture capital”.
IASP congratulates Thess INTEC on this key achievement, which paves the way for new opportunities in collaboration and innovation at national and international level.
