Tree Flowers Solutions (TFS), a Portuguese company from IASP member Brigantia Ecopark, specialising in innovative wine preservation technology, has been awarded a prominent European-level innovation prize. The victory in the Golden Panda Innovation & Entrepreneurship Global Competition not only recognizes the disruptive potential of their patented product, Chestwine, but also grants the company access to the global finals scheduled to take place in China.

Founded to develop a natural alternative to sulfites using chestnut flower extract, Tree Flowers Solutions builds on research patented by the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança. This innovation promises to revolutionize wine preservation by offering a healthier, more sustainable option for the industry.

Over the past five years, TFS has attracted €3 million in investment, enabling the construction of a state-of-the-art production unit and laboratories in Bragança’s industrial area. The facility, set to open later this year, is staffed by a team of 14 highly qualified professionals, positioning the company at the forefront of innovation and manufacturing capacity.

“We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved and the recognition we have received,” said João Gonçalves, CEO of Tree Flowers Solutions. He highlighted the vital support from investors including Portugal Ventures, Cedrus Capital, and Change Plus, as well as the company’s readiness to scale and extend its innovative solutions throughout Europe.

This award marks a significant milestone for Tree Flowers Solutions, underscoring its growing influence in sustainable agri-tech and its commitment to advancing the future of wine preservation.

We celebrate this novel achievement as a testament to Brigantia Ecopark and TFS’s dedication to revolutionising natural preservation methods, paving the way for innovations that will enhance sustainability across the agri-food sector, empowering biotechnologists to deliver meaningful conservation solutions.
