UC3M Science Park marks 25 years of innovation

IASP member UC3M Science Park in Madrid celebrated its 25th anniversary at the X Encuentro Empresarial held at its facilities in Leganés earlier this month. The event brought together institutions, companies, and key stakeholders from the region’s ecosystem to commemorate a quarter of a century fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.  

The day opened with a welcome address by Ana Acebrón, Director of the Science Park, who also presented a commemorative video reviewing its 25-year journey, and a congratulatory message for the park from IASP CEO Ebba Lund. The anniversary also coincides with the 25 years of UC3M Science Park’s membership of IASP, which it joined in 2000, first as a university and then as the Science Park, underlining its longstanding commitment to international collaboration. 

The programme continued with testimonials from startups and spin-offs based within the park, as well as companies from the Leganés Tecnológico area, who shared their experiences of growth within the ecosystem. The event concluded with closing remarks by Ana Acebrón and a networking reception, marking both a celebration of past achievements and a forward-looking commitment to the next 25 years.
