Edmonton Research Park
Edmonton Research Park (ERP) is a leading innovation hub located in South Edmonton, Alberta, supporting a innovation ecosystem of organisations across sectors such as life sciences, advanced manufacturing, and information technology. Established in 1979, the park spans over 300 acres and offers purpose-built infrastructure, including specialised laboratories, office spaces, and incubators designed to support both early-stage ventures and established companies. Within ERP, the Life Sciences Campus provides wet labs and tailored facilities for research in areas like drug development and diagnostics. The park is also home to key facilities such as the Advanced Technology Centre and the Biotechnology Business Development Centre, which play a vital role in accelerating innovation and commercialisation.
ERP facilitates a collaborative environment through the Edmonton Research Park Business Consortium (ERPBC), which connects tenants and offers opportunities for mentorship and networking. In 2024, stewardship of the park was assumed by Applied Pharmaceutical Innovation (API), a not-for-profit focused on advancing pharmaceutical sciences and innovation capacity in Canada. ERP contributes over $200 million annually to the local economy, supports more than 1,500 jobs, and has been associated with over 80 patents. Located with access to major transportation routes, the Edmonton Research Park continues to play a central role in strengthening Edmonton’s position as a centre for research, innovation, and economic growth.
