HUB de Innovacion Punta Bergantin

Located close to the city of Puerto Plata, HUB de Innovación Punta Bergantin is the result of synergies between public and private sector partners. The initiative, consolidated under the quadruple helix model which includes government, business, academia and civil society, aims at stimulating human capital and providing the necessary infrastructure to develop innovation and entrepreneurship projects in the Dominican Republic. The Hub is built around five key pillars, including the development of a digital talent hub aimed at training more than 10,000 technology professionals in the coming years, as well as the creation of a centre of excellence for research and development. It also seeks to foster entrepreneurship through incubation and acceleration programmes, while providing favourable conditions to attract and retain digital nomads and entrepreneurial teams. The hub mainly focuses on the sectors of agriculture and forestry, education, renewable energies, environment, and ICT & Communications.
