Background information

Sparkup Tartu Science Park is a science and technology hub in Tartu, Estonia, established in 1992 as the first science park in the Baltic States. It provides more than 12,000 m² of office and laboratory space and hosts over 70 companies, supporting technology-driven businesses from early development through international growth.

Its services include incubation and acceleration, business consulting, mentoring, investor connections, internationalisation and export support, partnership development, and access to research infrastructure. The park also provides offices, laboratories, meeting facilities, and shared spaces for its community.

Sparkup focuses on space technology, unmanned aviation, artificial intelligence, health and biotechnology, and green technologies. Its programmes include ESA BIC Estonia, NATO DIANA, Health Founders Estonia, and the DeepTech Accelerator, providing specialised support for high-tech startups and research-based ventures.

The park works closely with the University of Tartu, Estonian University of Life Sciences, and other research organisations, helping connect scientific research with entrepreneurship, investment, and commercialisation.
