The first 5G-enabled technology and innovation park in Malaysia, MRANTI Park, offers an end-to-end 5G ecosystem for innovation. This includes parkwide-ready infrastructure, a dedicated business facilitation hub, and a 5G Experience Center. Recognised by the government as the National 5G-for-innovation Testbed, we help innovators (startups, tenants and academia & researchers).

Our purpose is to unlock the transformative potential of 5G for businesses and society, and we've built a three-pronged ecosystem approach to achieve this: Laying the Foundation (5G in the Park): First, we established robust 5G infrastructure and connectivity across MRANTI Park, through partnership with our national provider. This critical first step ensures the fundamental capability for 5G-enabled innovation to thrive, creating a digitally advanced environment. Empowering Innovation (5G for Business): With the infrastructure in place, we actively connect businesses/innovators eager to leverage 5G in their products and services. We provide a supportive environment for them to build and test their innovations (POCs) using our established network and link them with the right partners for growth and commercialisation opportunities. Increase Awareness (5G Experience Center): Recognising that some of our main users may lack understanding of 5G's benefits, our Experience Center serves as a vital bridge. Here, we showcase real-world 5G applications, inspiring understanding and driving adoption through education and awareness programs. This interconnected ecosystem serves five key purposes: providing Advisory Services to guide businesses, acting as a National Testbed for 5G innovation, Connecting the Ecosystem of partners and innovators, building Awareness and Understanding, and Showcasing 5G Innovation in tangible ways. Our ultimate goal is to accelerate the adoption of 5G-enabled technologies that create real-world impact.

Our innovation lies in the seamless integration of a three-part 5G ecosystem designed to address the entire adoption journey. Unlike fragmented approaches that focus solely on network deployment or individual business applications, we've strategically integrated: Parkwide Readiness: We first ensured the fundamental 5G infrastructure was in place within MRANTI Park, a crucial prerequisite. Business Enablement: We actively identify and support businesses in developing and testing 5G-powered products and services within our established environment, connecting them with vital partners. Accessible Understanding: Through our dedicated 5G Experience Center, we promote 5G for a non-technical audience, showcasing its real-world applications in an inspiring and understandable way. This end-to-end approach, coupled with our ongoing focus on real-world applications within our 4IR living labs (Autonomous Vehicles, Drones & Robotics, Life Sciences, and Food Security), where 5G is a critical enabler, sets us apart. While not just providing connectivity; we are actively cultivating a thriving ecosystem that translates 5G's potential into tangible benefits for businesses and society.

Our integrated 5G ecosystem is already generating significant impact, touching both businesses and the wider community. Since 2023, 160 companies and 700 individuals have directly benefited from our 5G Experience Center activities, gaining crucial insights into 5G's potential. Within MRANTI Park, 6 Proof-of-Concepts are actively ongoing across 5 diverse industry verticals, demonstrating tangible applications. Crucially, one of these POCs that is focusing on the agriculture industry has successfully commercialised and is now empowering small scale farmers nationwide in Malaysia with 5G technology by enabling real-time data collection from sensors in the fields. This data provides farmers with precise insights on crop health, soil conditions, and weather patterns, allowing for optimised irrigation, fertilisation, and pest control. This translated into increased yields, reduced effort, and enhanced livelihoods for agricultural communities, showcasing the direct societal benefit of our initiative. Furthermore, we've strengthened our ecosystem through strategic partnerships with leading organisations in the technology landscape, including Ericsson, GSMA, Malaysia's 5G network provider (Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB)), and national telcos (Maxis and CelcomDigi), to accelerate 5G adoption and innovation. The foundational 5G infrastructure across MRANTI Park is attracting a growing number of tenants and establishing a cutting-edge environment for future advancements. Our approach has also garnered global recognition, with connections established with international agencies and consistent media coverage highlighting MRANTI Park as a key driver of 5G advancement in Malaysia.

Startups: They leverage the park's testbed facilities to prototype their solutions and scale operations locally in Malaysia and regionally across ASEAN markets. Tenants (Enterprises): Sectors such as Drone Tech, Health Tech, Agri Tech, Autonomous Vehicles, and manufacturing use the facilities to refine applications that address industry-specific challenges. Academia & Researchers: Universities collaborate on research projects that explore new use cases for 5G technologies.

MRANTI (Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology and Innovation), a government agency under the Malaysia's Ministry of Science, Technology & Innovation (MOSTI), manages this initiative. At MRANTI, we accelerate demand-driven R&D in technology and innovation for Malaysian innovators, an effort that is situated in MRANTI Park, a technology park in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, providing facilities for research, development, and commercialisation of technologies.
