Describe your solution in 50 words or less
Our solutions are mainly focused on rural areas, especially where electricity access is limited and where transportation can be challenging for disabled or elderly persons. Our main USP consists of five modules as follows 1 Solar Panel 2 BMS 3 Motors 4 Stability 5 Mileage. The Battery Management System (BMS) ensures the safety and longevity of the tricycle's battery by monitoring its performance, preventing overcharging, and maintaining optimal operating conditions. The mileage range of 40 km demonstrates the tricycle's capacity for longer-distance travel on plain roads, providing users with a reliable mode of transportation. The maximum speed of 23 km per hour offers a balance between efficiency and safety. The battery level indicator provides users with real-time visibility into the tricycle's power status, helping them plan their journeys effectively.
What is the purpose of your solution
For individuals with amputations, not using a tricycle may lead to significant challenges in terms of mobility, daily activities, and social participation. Without a functional mobility device, individuals may experience difficulties with basic tasks, increased risk of falls, limited access to public transportation, and social isolation due to reduced independence and participation in community activities. Also, India's population and economy are growing, leading to increased energy demand, which solar power can help address. The solar sector creates jobs and fosters economic growth, with potential for further investment and innovation.
What is innovative about it
Innovation itself has a patent on its variant product with a locking mechanism. Solar charging replenishes the battery during idle time and travel, ensuring continuous motor operation without external power or user disruption.
What impact has your solution had
Solar-powered tricycles have empowered disabled persons in several ways, including developing leg and core strength, encouraging spatial awareness, developing problem solving skills, improving attention and focus, encouraging decision making, increasing self confidence, and supporting imagination and play.
Who are the main users
1. Wheelchair users needing enhanced mobility. 2. Elderly individuals with limited physical strength. 3. Patients in rehabilitation or with chronic mobility issues. 4. Rural or remote area residents with limited access to electricity or transport. 5. Environmentally conscious users seeking sustainable travel options.
Who runs it
The solar-powered tricycle is typically operated by the user themselves, using a simple control interface such as handlebars, throttle, depending on the design. It is designed to be: 1. Self-driven for independent mobility. 2. Assisted in some models, where a caregiver or attendant can help control it. 3. Powered by solar-charged batteries, reducing manual effort.
