Technology And Sustainability: The Role Of The Technology And Innovation Park Of São José Dos Campos In Promoting The Circular Economy Within The Brazilian Aerospace Industry

In 2023, the Technology and Innovation Park of São José dos Campos, in Brazil, intensified its initiatives in ESG, aligning with the UN's 2030 Agenda. In order to contribute to SDG 12, it developed the Circularity Program, with the aim of promoting Circular Economy within Embraer's supply chain as well as implementing a Solid Urban Waste Management model for the city. 

The project involved the aerospace cluster, in cooperation with ABDI. The initiative brought together ten companies, which embarked on a journey that included carbon inventories, identification of opportunities to manage waste generated by the supply chain, and raise awareness for more sustainable practices within organizations. 

As a result, PIT positions itself as a key player in the sustainability arena, by engaging its innovation ecosystem and developing a methodology that can be applied across the aerospace sector and replicated in other industries.
