B-hub for Europe: accelerating blockchain use in Europe

B-hub is an ambitious project that brings together blockchain technology providers, public actors, companies, blockchain enthusiasts and leading actors of European innovation towards a common goal: fostering the use of blockchain for the benefit of public services, companies, and citizens of Europe.

In October 2021, B-Hub had launched its Discovery Tours initiative. It consists in visiting international startup hubs; establishing contact with blockchain associations, experts, business accelerators and other startups; meeting other European blockchain ecosystems builders and investors; attending international tech events with local innovation actors.

First stage was Berlin. During the Ecosystem tour of Berlin, the startups and other participants were welcomed and were given perspectives from political, research, hub and startup perspectives. Most notably, the founder and CEO of Ocean Protocol, the CEO of one of the largest business hubs in Berlin (Factory Berlin) and a recently re-elected member of german parliament (Mario Brandenburg) with a special interest in blockchain technology joined. Next to 3 more startups (License Rocks, Staex and Gnosis) sharing their perspective, there was also great insight in the ecosystem provided by BerChain and the support systems available in Berlin from Berlin Partner for Business and Technology.

Second stage was held in VILNIUS. During the event, attendees met the key people from the local ecosystem support here from Startup Lithuania and Rockit. And also had the opportunity to hear the stories of the blockchain startup founders from Super How, BlockBank, Lympo, BitDegree,  Mysterium Network, CoinGate.
