IASP’s North and Latin American divisions are the first to meet in 2023, but the European division won’t be far behind: members will meet in Reykjavik, Iceland, on 3-5 May, and discussions will focus on the idea of Innovation 360º.

Hosted by the University of Iceland Science Park, the conference takes place in Gróska Creative Community in Reykjavík. Located in the heart of Reykjavík between universities and the national hospital, it is a connected and diverse business and research environment, where a startup mentality is constantly cultivated. While Reykjavík is proudly one of the world's smallest capitals, it possesses one of the most innovative, flexible, and creative workforces you can find.

After a 2022 World Conference focusing on sustainability, members were keen to carry on the conversation about this key challenge facing the world and continue to explore best practices. That’s part of the reason we wanted to hold this workshop in Iceland: the country is a leader in sustainable energy and is powered 100% by hydroelectric and geothermal energy, with nine out of ten Icelandic homes heated with geothermal waters. Green energy and the lack of polluting industries have left Iceland's water, soil, and environment remarkably pristine.

The host and organiser is the University of Iceland Science Park. Established in 2004, the park is a partnership between the University of Iceland (94,6%) and the City of Reykjavík (5,4%) that aims to promote the public good and collaboration with companies, research institutions, and other universities to strengthen ties and support value creation. The Science Park provides facilities in the university environment to many companies and institutions, where the synergistic effect of the community can help individuals thrive, and attendees at the workshop will have the opportunity for a technical visit as well as to explore the unique natural surroundings of Iceland.
