Join us in celebrating IASP member ZEDE del Litoral in their 5th anniversary!

Opened in 2018 in Guayaquil (Ecuador), ZEDE del Litoral defines its innovation ecosystem as “the ideal space to create great opportunities”. This Special Economic Zone has centred its mission around creating an innovation-encouraging space that will positively impact their community by developing the local R&D industry and creating quality lasting jobs.

With sustainability in mind, ZEDE del Litoral’s innovation ecosystem concentrates on harbouring new industries that will replace imports with local production and will stimulate the area’s economic development through exports.

As a highlight of the past five years, ZEDE del Litoral can be proud of their continuous work with business chambers, ministries, academia, and investors that has allowed for a rich innovation and economic development of the country, in addition to incubating successful companies such as Bioconversion, which studies the creation and implementation of protein flour made from insects, and Easymetering, who create smart grid technologies to optimise the flow of electricity, reduce waste, and improve reliability.
