Lakeside Science & Technology Park (Austria) has a new CEO, with Bernhard Lamprecht taking over from outgoing chief executive Hans Schoenegger, who is retiring.

With a background in real estate investment and asset management, Bernhard Lamprecht joins the park from the Federal Real Estate Agency of Austria, where he carried out projects at Austria’s biggest universities such as LIT Open Innovation Centre at Campus JKU in Linz, Inffeld Campus at TU Graz with Electronic Based System Centre, as well as beginning a new building for Silicon Austria Labs GmbH.

Lamprecht’s first goal as new CEO is to create frameworks for people to collaborate internationally on innovative solutions and research, building a platform for enterprises, startups and investors.

“Through linking the interests of science, sustainable management and shareholders I prepared for this new task, where I believe our future will depend on our ability to bring together research and innovation with digitalisation, as well as the dialog between organizations. I am grateful to take on the work of Hans Schoenegger, who has marvellously set up a great area of cooperation. It will be of great pleasure to further expand these thriving innovation centres here in these thriving innovation centres here in Carinthia, at the crossroads with Slovenia and Italy.”

Hans Schoenegger, the founder and retiring general manager of the two STPs, wishes all the best to Bernhard Lamprecht and emphasizes a current occupancy rate of almost 100% and international interest of ICT enterprises.

“Lakeside Park already consists of 1,400 people, 70 companies and three research institutes, as well as a startup centre and a laboratory for education in STEM fields and entrepreneurship. This is a solid base to constantly develop and gather more and more enterprise partners at our innovation centre. Currently we invest another € 17m for additional 4,000 m² and a multi-storey garage with 500 parking places.”
