Question of the month: assistance on intellectual property issues

April's Question of the Month asked about whether the management teams of STPs/AOIs provided assistance or consultancy on intellectual property issues to their resident companies.

A total of 51 responses were received, and the results show that IP is clearly one of the main ingredients of the STP/AOI recipe in one way or another, with only 11.7% responding that they did not have the service or that it wasn't relevant in their case.

33.3% told us that they provide IP assistance or consultancy directly; 35.3% outsource it under their guidance or responsibility, and 19.6% say this is done by other bodies such as universities or IP attorneys independently of the STP/AOI.
