In December, we asked IASP members if their park or area of innovation was involved in, or related to, any form of cluster.

33% told us that they were formally part of a cluster, and another 33% have relations or collaborations with existing clusters nearby.

7% said that their park or area was itself regarded as a cluster; 4.8% are both formally a cluster themselves and also collaborate with other clusters nearby, and another 4.8% are regarded informally as a cluster and also collaborate with others.

14.3% explained that their park or area of innovation plays a key role in the management or leadership of one or several clusters, and only 2.4% are not involved in any way with clusters.

These results show a significant majority of parks and areas of innovation work with clusters, whether formally or informally. This suggests that STPs and clusters have many common aims and approaches and can mutually benefit from closer working.
