The Technology Park of Andalusia has a new name! The Spanish science park, where IASP World Headquarters is based, has just launched its new name and brand Málaga TechPark.

The name change goes alongside a branding refresh which reinforces the park’s connection with its local community and the city of Malaga, and emphasises its role in helping the regional innovation ecosystem to internationalise.

A socially distance launch ceremony for the new name was attended by local and regional authorities, including Minister of Economic Transformation, Industry, Knowledge and University of the Junta de Andalucía, Rogelio Velasco; the mayor of Malaga, Francisco de la Torre; and the Andalusian Councillor for the Presidency, Elías Bendodo as well as Málaga TechPark director Felipe Romera.

The park is a key piece in the new talent recruitment and retention initiative that the Ministry of Economic Transformation is developing to strengthen the local innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystem and the competitiveness of the regional economy.

“These ecosystems, in which administration, business and innovation go hand in hand, have a double aspect as backbone of the region and as a launchpad for some of the most important clusters for the Andalusian economy. This new logo is more modern and current and highlights the city of Malaga, which is an international benchmark for new technologies," said Rogelio Velasco.

With the new Málaga TechPark label, the park is taking an important step to promote its international connections and reach, as well as strengthen its relationships with the park community and local citizens.

Since it was established more than 30 years ago, the Málaga TechPark has evolved and grown to become a benchmark for business innovation both nationally and internationally, and is now home to 644 companies employing almost 20,000 staff.
