Background information
Future Metals Technopark is an industrial and innovation zone in Uzbekistan developed by the Uzbekistan Technological Metals Combine (UzTMK). In April 2025, UzTMK presented a plan to establish a comprehensive “critical raw materials processing hub” that spans the entire value chain—from geological exploration to advanced metal processing and the production of high-value finished products. The project includes the construction of an R&D center and a nanotechnology laboratory to support high-tech manufacturing and expand the country’s capacity to export processed strategic metals. Major investment and infrastructure development are scheduled for 2025–2028. Companies operating in the technopark will benefit from a secured supply of raw materials, fully developed industrial utilities, transportation links, and an investor-friendly regulatory environment designed to facilitate manufacturing and export. The planned R&D ecosystem will also strengthen innovation in processing technologies, materials science, and advanced industrial production. The project spans 150 hectares and aims to create more than 18,000 jobs and attract significant international investment. Overall, Future Metals Technopark is positioned as a strategic national initiative to shift Uzbekistan from exporting raw metals to producing globally competitive, high-value metal products.
