The Silicon Savannah Intelligence Operation Centre opens in Konza Technopolis

With an official ceremony presided over by the President of Kenya, Konza Technopolis officially opened its Silicon Savannah Intelligence Operation Centre on 13 October.

The centre serves as the “digital twin” of the technopolis and acts as the nerve centre of the smart city, functioning as an integrated platform that brings together various technologies. Through advanced analytics and predictive capabilities, the centre enables informed, proactive decision-making to support the efficient management of the smart city.

The Centre forms part of the Phase 1 developments, which also include underground utility tunnels, a water treatment plant, solid and water waste collection systems, the Konza Experience Centre, an athletes’ field, and furnished apartments, among others. As a rapidly developing academia, research, and innovation hub, Konza Technopolis also hosts three universities - Open University of Kenya, Kenya Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, and Riara University - as well as a fully operational, Tier III certified National Data Centre, providing high-quality cloud computing services to both government institutions and private enterprises.
