Entrepreneur Multi-User Virtual Environment
Objectives
Supporting and enhancing the development of new learning methodologies and the creation of new enterprises, EMUVE aimed to create a Multi-User Virtual Environment for entrepreneurs. This virtual environment was designed to help them develop entrepreneurship skills and expand their knowledge in key areas such as marketing, business, finance, innovation, project management, and internationalisation. The project introduced a new teaching and learning methodology with the potential to create educational environments that blend real-world activities with emerging technologies, notably Augmented Learning.
The project's goals included:
- Raising entrepreneurship culture among youngsters, women, and unemployed individuals.
- Providing guidance to aspiring entrepreneurs who wish to start their own businesses.
- Developing vocational skills that align with labor market demands for new jobs and emerging industries.
By offering an immersive and interactive learning platform, EMUVE sought to foster entrepreneurship and innovation, preparing individuals for success in today's rapidly changing business environment.
Activities
- Definition of Methodology and Pedagogical Content: The project aimed to define a methodology for teaching entrepreneurship skills, tailored to an online environment. This involved the creation of pedagogical contents to be implemented within the virtual platform. The content would cover areas like marketing, business strategy, finance, innovation, and project management. The curriculum was designed to provide a practical, hands-on learning experience in the virtual space, simulating real-world entrepreneurial challenges.
- Development of a Multi-User Virtual Environment (Second Life): A training platform for entrepreneurs was developed within Second Life, a virtual world that allows users to interact in a 3D environment. This immersive environment enabled participants to engage with entrepreneurial tasks in a realistic, interactive setting. The platform supported multiple users, allowing for collaboration, networking, and peer-to-peer learning, simulating real-life business dynamics.
- Raising Awareness and Disseminating Results: The project focused on raising awareness about its objectives and potential. It aimed to disseminate results among key stakeholders, including potential entrepreneurs, start-up companies, and policy makers at regional, national, and international levels. This included promoting the benefits of using virtual environments for entrepreneurial education and the value it could add to the innovation ecosystem. Through targeted outreach and communication strategies, the project intended to inspire a wider adoption of the methodology and its integration into broader educational systems and support programs for new businesses.
By combining innovative virtual training tools with a comprehensive learning approach, the EMUVE project provided a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs to build their skills in a simulated yet dynamic and engaging virtual world.
