Active Families - improving health, cohesion and resilience in Portugal! Family Alive invite mothers, fathers, babies, younger and older children and seniors to made physical activity together. To prevent disease # StayHome To promote health #StayActive To improve resilience and cohesion # Do it Together

Long text:
Worldwide, 60% of annual death and 47% of annual diseases are related to blood pressure, cholesterol, insufficient intake of fruits and vegetables, overweight, smoking, physical inactivity - all risk factors to cardiovascular diseases, type II diabetes and cancer. In Europe, southern countries (Bulgaria, Malta, Portugal, Romania and Italy) present lower levels of PA.
Contemporary society caused changes on the lifestyles and family structures (increased divorces and rebuilt/single-parent families). Financial and time issues, lead to more easier options (fast food, human interaction through technology, time in front of screens).
European survey respondents present as the reasons for the lack of PA the lack of time (42%), low motivation (20%), unfitness or disease (13%) and costs (10%), despite 76% agreeing they have opportunities to be physically active where they live.
Conscientious of the importance of PA to school success, physical and mental health and family cohesion, Family Alive, unlike the most common individual PA, offers new options to address the identified obstacles: time (through optimizing time together), motivation (through improvement of family operations) and costs. And now something unexpected made people stop, but we need to remain active.
