Building the future: UBT launches "Smart City" project

IASP Member, UBT- Science and Innovation Campus is developing a new Science, Technology, and Innovation centre, known as UBT Smart City, at its Innovative Campus in Lipjan, Kosovo. Spanning approximately 28,000 square metres, the centre will be the first of its kind in the country and is intended to support employment, entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainable development. 

UBT Smart City will feature spaces dedicated to practical learning and applied research such as, laboratories, an incubator, creative hubs, and facilities for small-scale industries and new businesses. The project also includes a dormitory, library, kitchen, sports facilities and other components aimed at creating a comprehensive innovation ecosystem. As the sixth facility within UBT’s Innovative Campus, the centre will incorporate smart technologies that meet the criteria for classification as a Smart City. 

This development aligns with UBT’s broader strategic objectives to strengthen education, stimulate employment, and promote sustainable growth in Kosovo. Beyond its physical infrastructure, UBT Smart City represents a long-term vision aiming to create an environment where ideas can evolve into solutions. By bringing together all of this within a single smart ecosystem, we see how UBT is working towards transforming its region through collaboration.
