IASP member TusPark, recently hosted the 2025 APEC seminar on “Promoting Green Jobs and Resilient Development by Enhancing the Capacity Building of Sustainable Entrepreneurs.” Held on July 16 in Beijing (China), the event brought together leaders from government, academia, science parks, and industry across the APEC region to address shared sustainability challenges.

The seminar was co-hosted by Tus-Holdings and the China Center for Entrepreneurship Research at Tsinghua University. Jiwu Wang, chairman of Tus-Holdings, highlighted the pivotal role that science parks and areas of innovation can play in the next wave of industrial transformation by cultivating new forms of human capital and reinforcing university-industry collaboration. He welcomed attendees from Australia, Canada, Mexico, and Vietnam, and underlined the commitment of Tus-Holdings to global partnerships.

Keynote speakers included Herbert Chen, past IASP president and Senior Executive Vice President of Tus-Holdings, among others.  Herbert focused on “How Science Parks Help Green Startups Grow Rapidly,” sharing examples of Tus-Holdings’ international footprint and its impact on nurturing green innovation.

Throughout the event, participants discussed a range of topics, including policy strategies for scaling green tech startups, skills development aligned with the UN sustainable development goals, and the role of digitalization. This seminar demonstrated the leadership in advancing cross-regional collaboration, highlighting the central role of science parks in enabling a sustainable economic future.

We commend TusPark for reinforcing the role of collaborative networks across regions, which are vital for sharing best practices, aligning on goals, and driving innovation on a broader scale. Such cross-regional partnerships exemplify the power organisations have to leverage diverse perspectives and resources while addressing shared challenges more effectively. Foraging these meaningful connections strengthens our community’s capacity to deliver lasting impact and advance our mission to unite innovation ecosystems worldwide.
