Caohejing Innovation Centre and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) announce the launch of the Global Acceleration Hub in a joint effort with Caohejing Hi-tech Park: this new programme promotes business collaboration between Japanese companies, and companies in the Caohejing ecosystem.

The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) is a non-profit organization that provides business support services to companies expanding to Japan. Since 2003, JETRO has supported more than 15,000 business investment projects and helped over 1,500 companies successfully invest in Japan. With the support of JETRO's dedicated staff, clients can incorporate their business; receive visa, immigration, and HR support; find dedicated office space; identify local government subsidies; get tailored market studies; and more.

The Caohejing Innovation Center is the park’s business incubator, and is committed to cultivating and supporting technology-intensive enterprises and promoting commercialisation, industrialisation and internationalisation of scientific and technological achievements.

As with other Caohejing accelerator programmes, the new Global Acceleration Hub offers services related to mentoring, feedback, and establishing key connections, as well as collecting and dispatching the latest information related to industry trends and new movement in Shanghai ecosystems. Selected Japanese startups are provided with co-working desk space to support their entry into the startup ecosystem in Shanghai, and it will also help China’s startups and corporates to expand their business into Japan.

Caohejing is actively engaged in the local and global innovation ecosystem, partnering with leading local and global innovation organizations, such as Startup Grind (the largest independent startup community, actively educating, inspiring, and connecting 1 million entrepreneurs in over 400 cities), Slush and etc. On September 19th, the Vice President of JETRO delivered a speech to Startup Grind, and the selected startups were offered the opportunity to pitch at the Startup Grind annual conference. The event is one of the largest showcases of China's startup ecosystem, attracting over 1000 attendees this year.

With a network of over 4000 tech companies located in Caohejing Hi-tech Park, the STP management team is able to connect Japanese startups to industry leaders to explore potential business opportunities. Professionals from Caohejing’s team and external experts guide Japanese startups on areas from legal, market, product, channel and etc. Within the last three months, they have witnessed breakthroughs of two Japanese startups – one has launched a PoC at Bosch Connectory Shanghai and the other is closing a deal with Fosun Group.
