Porto Digital has launched a collaboration with PwC Brazil to offer a series of new products and services for Recife's innovation ecosystem.

The partnership involves linking to entrepreneurship programmes in the Porto Digital area of innovation, such as its startup incubator and Mind the Bizz, aimed at early stage companies. Through this partnership, companies that go through entrepreneurial support programmes will be able to take advantage of masterclasses, consultancies and advisory services provided by Porto Digital in conjunction with PwC.

"This partnership will strengthen Porto Digital's entrepreneurship and innovation programmes. Our startups will have access to high-level knowledge and content provided by PwC. In addition, new connections and business opportunities will be generated within our innovation ecosystem with large companies that demand technological innovation,” says Heraldo Ourem, Director of Business Competitiveness at Porto Digital.

According to Luiz Ponzoni, partner at PwC Brazil and leader of New Ventures and Innovation, the association with Porto Digital is part of a strategic movement that reinforces PwC's position in the world of innovation and entrepreneurship, based on the concept of Open Innovation. "We are very excited and we know that the partnership will require creativity, an open mind and a true collaborative purpose," he adds.

The partnership is especially important due to the role that PwC and Porto Digital both play in the city and in the state of Pernambuco. “Porto Digital's mission and purpose, to be one of the pillars of Pernambuco's economy of the future and to be one of the anchors of the state's sustainable development, meets our vision and aspiration to make a significant contribution to the city and region”, says Vinícius Rêgo, leader of the PwC office in Recife.

As one of the most recognized global companies focused on performing diagnostics, proposing solutions for business challenges and implementing strategies for the growth of companies, PwC intends to meet and connect with Porto Digital startups to support business scalability in venture building processes. The partnership will also organise a series of lectures, presentations, technical material, in addition to holding events in conjunction with Porto Digital, as part of the new a “powered by PwC" label.

PwC will also help companies from the park to map technologies and skills that can be offered to their customers, transforming consultancy into a bridge to connect businesses.
