Ideon Science Park hosted the latest edition of Sveriges Innovationsriksdag, the annual meeting of the Swedish innovation ecosystem.
Organised by SISP, Sweden’s Incubators and Science Parks and Ideon Science Park, the event on March 21-23 brought together science parks, incubators, trade associations, cluster organizations but also academia, startups and large companies from across the country and beyond.
It was run as a hybrid event in partnership with the digital conference Sweden Innovation Days, with both digital participation and physical sessions taking place at Ideon Science Park, IASP members who are celebrating their 40th anniversary this year.
Under the main theme “Leading innovation for global impact,” attendees took an in-depth look at how Swedish agencies and industry are paving the way for the national innovation ecosystem to experiment and grow. With real-life examples of how stakeholders are successfully innovating and the opportunity to learn about the impact innovations have had on our society, the event was dedicated to fostering international collaboration and innovation that has a real impact on society, the environment and the economy. Key topics to emerge included the importance of co-creation and how Sweden is embedding it into their culture of innovation, with experts exploring strategies to ensure a collaborative mindset, share key knowledge and learn from past experiences.
IASP Vice President Lena Miranda (Linköping Science Park) and CEO Ebba Lund were among the speakers, on a panel exploring the role of the New European Innovation Agenda in securing a leading innovation landscape. They discussed the power of innovation to overcome global crises, and how to secure an open and collaborative research and innovation.
Participants could also find potential business partners by joining digital matchmaking sessions between startups, scaleups, corporates and public sector organisations that took place across the three-day event. And the first full version of the Swedish Climate Startup Map was unveiled to showcase 420 environmental startups and scaleups. These cutting-edge companies from across the country are developing innovations with the potential to help accelerate the green transition in a wide range of sectors, including agriculture, construction, energy, forestry, manufacturing, transportation, waste, and water.
