Zhengzhou Turing Town inaugurated in China

In the Computing Industry Development Conference, held in Zhengzhou hi-tech Zone earlier this month, Zhengzhou Municipal People's Government signed a contract with Shanghai Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Xinhua San Group for the construction of “Zhengzhou Turing Town”, a space created to further develop the high-quality of Zhengzhou’s computing industry.

In the era of a digital economy, data, arithmetic, and algorithms have increasingly become an important driving force for economic development. IASP member Zhengzhou National High & New Technology Industries Development Zone has always attached great importance to the development of said digital economy as the source of local economic success and improvement, implementing a digital transformation in the region.

The creation of Zhengzhou Turing Town will bring a focus on “key areas”, gathering resources, enhancing the innovation ecosystem and capacity, and therefore promoting industrial development. This long-term in-depth cooperation will specialise in industrial development strategies, construction of AI industrialisation platforms, bases for incubation projects, and the creation of an urban arithmetic network.

Named after Alan Turing, the British mathematician highly influential in the development of theoretical computer science, Turing Town is being constructed in the core area of Zhengzhou’s hi-tech zone and will work as key centre for the gathering of AI talents.
