Background information

Luoyang University Science Park, which began operations in 2013, is located south of the advanced manufacturing cluster area of Luoyang City with a core area planned to cover 525 mu of land and a total construction area of 600,000 square meters.

The park is a comprehensive technology service platform for the cultivation of strategic emerging industries, the development of high-tech industries, and fostering innovative and entrepreneurial talents in Luoyang City.

Built on the basis of government guidance, university support, and market-oriented operation, it is operated by a professional management body that was jointly set up by the provincial, municipal and district governments, three universities (Henan University of Science and Technology, Luoyang Institute of Science and Technology and Luoyang Normal University), and Songyue Technology Industry Development Co, which makes the park a rare and successful model of triple helix government-industry-university cooperation in China.

As a key actor in the innovation ecosystem, Luoyang accelerates intensifies the cultivation of scientific and technology-based businesses, deepens the synergy between industry, university and research, and promotes the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. The park works to create a culture of entrepreneurship and to grow an economy based on small and micro enterprises: it is already home to over 500 hi-tech startups, SMEs and corporates, as well las R&D institutions.

Luoyang University Science Park is also developing an international service platform for import and export, as well as talent attraction for Luoyang City, by building international platforms, holding international innovation and entrepreneurship competitions, and setting up overseas branches.
