Young Entrepreneurs at ISTT to combat Covid 19

Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT) has considered incentive packages and special facilities for tenant knowledge-based companies with novel and effective ideas in combating the new coronavirus, also known as COVID-19. More than 32 companies at ISTT have been tackling problems directly related to COVID-19 through the production of materials and medical equipment that combat the disease.

ISTT supports companies in different ways to facilitate their production process. ISTT has established close link with Iran FDA (Food and Drug Administration) to issue necessary permissions for the newly produced products and equipment related to combat COVID-19. Other measures in this regard include obtaining official production permissions from public authorities, solving and removing production obstacles, providing rapid loans and facilities to induce scale-ups, commercialization of products, etc.

ISTT President, Dr. Ghaisari and his team have closely pursued these matters with provincial and national authorities and were able to swiftly finance the needed funds for tenant companies within the first few weeks of the spread of the pandemic in Iran; decreasing the need for imports of medical equipment and hygienic materials to the country.    

Many companies have set-up new production lines for this purpose, some have changed their already existing production lines to accommodate the solutions and products that help patients, hospitals and the whole community to fight the virus, and others have increased their production capacities.

Among the measures undertaken by ISTT tenants we can refer to commissioning a new mask production line by one our Medical equipment companies with the capacity of producing 150000 masks per day.

Another resident company has also expressed readiness for constructing a 400-bed prefabricated hospital, if needed.

• Ventilators
• Different kinds of hand sanitizer gels and sprays
• Different types of masks including N95 masks, surgical and 3layerd masks, etc.
• Testing kits
• Oxygen Tanks for hospitals
• UV sanitizer boxes
• Surface disinfectants

ISTT companies have also indirectly helped the current situation by offering solutions and products like:

• Applications for remote working (Remote Working Platform)
• Air Purification Filters
• Smart remote detection for crowded spaces
• Disinfecting spraying machines used in building entrances

Like many other knowledge-based companies around the world, ISTT companies are still working hard on developing solutions and coming- up with inventions and products that fight the coronavirus outbreak. Their entrepreneurial spirit and their solution-oriented mindset together with the support they have received from ISTT and the local government during the outbreak, have made it possible for ISTT and its companies to play an important role in managing the virus outbreak, especially in the Province.
