Botswana Digital Innovation Hub appoints new Chief Executive Officer

The Botswana Digital & Innovation Hub (BDIH) has appointed Kabo Phetlhu as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 16 February 2026.

Mr Phetlhu brings more than 20 years of experience in digital transformation, with a professional background spanning technology, innovation and business strategy. His work has focused on the development of innovation ecosystems, including the design of digital governance frameworks, the implementation of future-oriented operating models, and the promotion of organisational cultures that support innovation.

Alongside his professional career, Mr Phetlhu is actively engaged in community and governance initiatives. He currently serves as Chairperson of the Board of Directors of a local primary school, where he is leading efforts to modernise education delivery and infrastructure “to support the development of skills needed in today’s economy.

In his new role, Mr Phetlhu will lead BDIH as it continues its activities in support of digital innovation and ecosystem development. His appointment comes as the organisation advances its work to strengthen collaboration, programmes and services within Botswana’s innovation landscape.
