Four IASP members from four different countries are collaborating on a European Commission H2020 project: Poznan Science and Technology Park (Poland), Kaunas Science Park (Lithuania), Tallinn Science Park Tehnopol (Estonia) and the Parque Tecnológico de Andalucia (Spain) are all part of the consortium of a project called TargetSME.

Recently approved by the European Commission, in the framework of the EU Research and Innovation program H2020, the initiative is coordinated by the team at Poznan and will use emerging communication and marketing tools to facilitate partnerships within innovation ecosystems.

The project’s goal is to enhance the efficiency of how STPs and other innovation agencies attract innovative SMEs and increase interaction between stakeholders.

The four consortium members involved in the project will work using twinning+ methodology to make recommendations for communication, branding and marketing strategies to strengthen the position of innovation centers nationally and internationally as high value-added business support organisations.

The solutions developed in the project will be implemented in as new or improved programmes, while peer learning activities will identify new topics in the field of communication, find attractive methods of engaging innovative SMEs and put them into practice. It involves designing the whole proactive marketing process, from the identification of the target group, marketing channels and campaigns, attractive offer, diagnostics of individual needs, consequent support delivery and follow up of the process with key performance indicators.

Project outcomes will be communicated to regional and national authorities: how to reach the right SMEs is crucial to the success of policies aiming to enhance competitiveness and increase engagement in innovation processes, and the TargetSMEs project will have key findings to share.
