Sharing knowledge and expertise about our industry is at the heart of IASP’s mission, as well as providing support and advice in the establishment of new science park projects around the world, and as such IASP is delighted to be providing consultancy services to NED University for the construction of a new technology park in Karachi, Pakistan.
NED University of Engineering & Technology Karachi (NEDUET) was founded in 1921, making it one of the oldest universities in Pakistan. It has played a pivotal role in promoting national technological and industrial development by educating and training highly qualified engineering graduates, as well as fostering indigenous capabilities in design, management and operation which have been vital for the country’s progress.
Now, in order to reinforce their mission, the university is working with IASP and other partners (La Salle Universitat Ramon Lull, La Salle Technova, EY and System of Innovation) on the development of the NED Technology Park.
An innovation ecosystem that will be “born global”, the NED Technology Park will have a positive economic, social and technological impact in Pakistan.
Pakistan’s fast-growing IT industry earned a billion dollars in foreign exchange last year, and the regional government in collaboration with NED University plans to build a state of the art building on the NED campus as a technology zone where IT professionals and experts can set up their businesses with reduced rent and full logistics support.
You can learn more about the NED Technology Park project, and the global best practice it will be implementing, in an online symposium on March 4th at 9:30am CET. Register here to join us on Zoom or watch live on YouTube here.
