NSTP launches defence technology incubation programme in Pakistan

IASP member National Science & Technology Park (NSTP), NUST, has launched a dedicated Defence Technology (DefTech) incubation programme in partnership with the UK-based The AKD Group Companies, creating a new platform for young innovators and early-stage teams developing defence and dual-use technologies in Pakistan.

The partnership agreement was signed by NSTP Director Amer Sheikh, and AKD Group of Companies CEO Allayar K. Durrani, bringing together NSTP’s local research and innovation capabilities with The AKD Group’s  international industry connections, supporting the development of emerging dual-use technologies and their progression from research and early-stage ideas toward practical applications.

Through the four-month hybrid incubation program, participants will have access to expert mentorship, industry linkages, R&D infrastructure, technical expertise, and the whole ecosystem support to develop, validate, and scale their solutions.[FA1] The programme builds on NSTP's multidisciplinary approach and the wider research and development capabilities of NUST ecosystem, creating a platform where the country’s young talent can contribute to the development of next-generation technology-driven solutions while connecting with industry and potential partners.
