Background information

McMaster Innovation Park is a research and innovation park located in Hamilton, closely affiliated with McMaster University. The park is designed to support collaboration between academia, industry, and entrepreneurs, with a strong focus on research commercialisation, advanced manufacturing, and life sciences.

The park covers a surface area of approximately 54 acres and is home to around 80 resident companies, ranging from startups to established firms. It also includes 4 incubators, which provide support for early-stage ventures through mentoring, workspace, and business development services.

McMaster Innovation Park benefits from strong partnerships with key innovation organisations, including Innovation Factory, The Forge, Level Up, Synapse Life Sciences Consortium, and Flex Labs, all of which deliver programs, support services, and collaborative initiatives throughout the park. These partners contribute to startup growth, talent development, and sector-specific innovation, particularly in health and life sciences.

In addition, the McMaster Industry Liaison Office (MILO) is located within the park and provides services across the ecosystem, supporting technology transfer, intellectual property management, and industry collaboration. This strengthens the connection between university research and commercial application.

With its integrated ecosystem of companies, incubators, and support organisations, McMaster Innovation Park serves as a key innovation hub in the region, fostering entrepreneurship, advancing research-driven technologies, and contributing to economic development in Ontario and beyond.
