Siemens expands R&D operations at Innovation Saskatchewan Research and Technology Park

IASP member Innovation Saskatchewan Research and Technology Park in Canada, is expanding the tech community within its premises, with global technology company Siemens extending its research and development hub at the park by approximately 1,000 square meters.

The expansion strengthens Siemens electronic design automation (EDA) capabilities in Saskatoon, supporting the development of AI software for next-generation semiconductor design. Up to 100 new highly skilled roles are expected to be created over the next two years, further growing the local technology workforce.

The investment builds on a longstanding collaboration between Siemens and the University of Saskatchewan, including a Siemens-supported EDA Chair focused on developing specialised skills and strengthening the regional deep-tech talent pipeline. This highlights the role  of Innovation Saskatchewan Research and Technology Park in fostering partnerships that bring industry, research and talent together, supporting the growth of advanced technology capabilities in the region..

The announcement was marked by an on-site event attended by government, academic and industry leaders, with Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe among those highlighting the economic significance of the investment for the province and its growing technology workforce. The expanded site also reinforces the parks position as a key destination for advanced technology and industrial AI research in the North American region.
