Description:
Imagine the world’s first full scale net-zero community. McMaster Innovation Park (MIP) in partnership with its parent McMaster University will be build two. One 18-acre community powered by a Small Modular Reactor (SMR) and a net-zero biotech park using geothermal technologies. These two ambitious developments - the campus community, the 18-acre community within the larger McMaster University campus, will integrate residences, sports centers, amenities, and transportation all powered by a SMR. The net-zero biotech park will use the McMaster developed Integrated Community Energy and Harvesting (ICE) technology to create a net-zero Distributed Energy Resource (DER) system.
