Science and Technology Parks (STP’s) and Areas of Innovation (AOI’s) have typically been bastions of cooperation and collaboration within the scientific community across disciplines. And at the same time, the development of Innovation Ecosystems that encourage interdisciplinary collaboration has provided a powerful platform, capable of addressing some of the world’s toughest challenges.
Given the effects of climate change on the environment, STP’s and AOI’s provide a platform for collaboration that can effectively leverage innovative technology and best practice, in order to surface solutions and strategies that help mitigate negative climate effects, including those that may be associated with the construction and operation of the very labs and unique spaces they manage.
By design, innovation ecosystems convene a framework of stakeholders who have diverse strengths, roles and expertise, and through that process of interdisciplary collaboration, they are are better able to surface novel strategies and solutions that enhance performance within industries
