IASP member Technologiepark Heidelberg GmbH in Germany has announced a significant expansion of its innovation infrastructure, introducing new laboratory and office spaces alongside the innovative readyLAB22 model.

The expansion is designed to address challenges that early-stage companies are facing in capital intensive sectors such as life sciences, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and other high-tech industries.

Through readyLAB22, the park will tackle one of the fundamental barriers that often prevents promising technologies from reaching the market, offering them immediately usable lab infrastructure that enables young technology-driven companies to get rapid access to professional R&D environments without high upfront investments, helping them focus resources on innovation rather than infrastructure setup.

These additions contribute to creating a more complete infrastructure pathway for startups and SMEs at every stage of growth, all within Heidelberg’s highly connected innovation network, reinforcing its role as a catalyst for turning research into viable, scalable businesses. Funded through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), this expansion recognises the importance of such infrastructure to regional innovation capacity.

We congratulate our member on this development, and look forward to seeing the impact of this expanded infrastructure on the local innovation ecosystem.
