In driving advancements in aerospace technology, IASP member Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park (SRTI Park) and the UAE Space Agency have formally entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) during the Dubai Air Show.

This collaboration aligns with SRTI Park's vision to position Sharjah as a global hub for aerospace innovation and research.

The MOU, signed by Mr. Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SRTI Park and IASP WANA Division President, and Eng. Salem Al Qubaisi, Director General of the UAE Space Agency, signifies a commitment to exploring new areas of collaboration and leveraging joint capabilities in the aerospace technology sector. This effort is part of SRTI Park's intention to tap into the global aerospace market, which experienced a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.6%, reaching $278.43 billion in 2023 from $261.12 billion in 2022.

SRTI Park, already home to companies specializing in aerospace sectors, including drone development, VR applications, virtual training solutions, and innovative applications of conductive concrete at airports, is poised to play an important role in advancing aerospace technologies.

Under the terms of the MOU, both SRTI Park and the UAE Space Agency will collaborate on contributing to the development plans and programs in the country. This partnership is driven by shared objectives to enhance a mutual belief that cooperation between the two entities contributes to local development.
