About the speaker:

David Rowe is a member of the IASP Advisory Council, and was Director of the University of Warwick Science Park from its inception in 1982 until his retirement in 2011. He currently runs his own consultancy business, Warwick Enterprise Limited, which has clients at UK University linked Science Parks and in Kuwait, Oman and the European Commission.

Under Mr. Rowe, Warwick Science Park developed to become one of the leading initiatives of its type in Europe through a partnership between the University of Warwick, two local authorities and an Investment Fund Manager. The Science Park innovated in the development of Satellite Incubators and a wide range of business startup and development programmes. David has published several papers and consulted internationally on many aspects of technology transfer and innovation management over the last two decades, including an EU study on setting up, managing and evaluating EU science and technology parks. He has previously worked in Coventry's automotive sector at Chrysler UK, in two large high-tech industries: the UK Atomic Energy Authority and GEC Marconi. He has been conferred with the 'Queen's Award for Enterprise Promotion – Lifetime Achievement' that is awarded to one person annually.
