Delegation from Turkmenistan visits the IASP Headquarters

The International Scientific‑Technological Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan recently visited the IASP Headquarters, marking a significant step forward in its journey to becoming a Full member of our community.
IASP CEO Ebba Lund welcomed the delegation led by Director Gadamov Durdymyrat, alongside Chief Technologist Abduraimov Atamyrat and Scientist Atamanov Shohrat. The delegation engaged in discussions on Science Park management, international cooperation and advancement in their project.
The International Scientific‑Technological Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan is responsible for Turkmenistan's national scientific and technical policy, and for the development and implementation of the latest technologies. They focus on the priority areas of science and technology in Turkmenistan, which include nanotech, chemical technology, new materials, energy, biotech, molecular biology, agriculture, ecology and genetics, ICT, medicine, the innovative economy and humanities.
Currently, the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan unites 5 scientific institutes that carry out fundamental and applied research in priority areas of science and technology: the National Institute of Language, Literature and Manuscripts Makhtumkuli; the Institute of History and Archeology; the Institute of Seismology and Atmospheric Physics; the Institute of Chemistry; and the Technology Center. Its main role is to forecast developments in STEM and determine priority areas, and to ensure that research is aligned with key sectors of the economy by coordinating the research conducted by research institutes and higher educational institutions. It is also responsible for the training of highly qualified specialists and promoting international cooperation.
This visit was a valuable opportunity to strengthen ties and explore ways to deepen collaboration. Opportunities like this are key to maintaining strong connections with the global community of members and continuing to develop strong innovation ecosystems.
