Three new Full members joined our network this month. We are pleased to welcome DEPARK and KOU Teknopark (both from Türkiye), and Zagreb Innovation Centre (Croatia) to our global community. 


Dokuz Eylül University Technopark (DEPARK) - Türkiye 

Dokuz Eyül University Technopark (DEPARK) is a technology development zone based in Türkiye and was established in 2013 as the country’s first specialised health technology park. Operating across multiple campuses of Dokuz Eylül University, DEPARK supports a dynamic ecosystem of over 150 R&D companies and more than 2.000 professionals working across sectors such as health, software, and design. 

With a strong focus on fostering innovation and collaboration, and the commercialisation of research, DEPARK has facilitated more than 1,100 R&D projects and contributed to the development of nearly 2.000 products. The park also engages internationally and shares its expertise with other innovation hubs, positioning itself as an active contributor to both regional development and the broader innovation landscape.

 

Kocaeli University Technopark (KOU Teknokent) - Türkiye 

Kocaeli University Technopark (KOU Teknokent) is a technology development zone based in Türkiye and established in 2004 on the campus of Kocaeli University. KOU Teknokent plays a significant role in supporting technology transfer and digital transformation, fostering collaboration between academia and industry as well as among companies. It hosts more than 200 resident firms across a range of knowledge-intensive sectors, with a strong focus on information technologies and electronics. 

KOU Teknokent offers specialised laboratories in fields including laser technologies, advanced materials and alternative fuels, enabling closer collaboration between researchers and industry and supporting the transformation of academic knowledge into applied solutions. Additional facilities, such as a Brand Testing Center and the GASTEARGE publication, contribute to product development, knowledge sharing and increased visibility of R&D activities. 


Zagreb Innovation Centre - Croatia 

Zagreb Innovation Centre (ZICER) is a startup hub and accelerator based in Zagreb, with over 30 years of experience supporting technology-driven entrepreneurship, innovation and skills development. Operating from a 7,300m2 facility, it supports more than 80 startups on-site and delivers comprehensive acceleration programmes that provide education, mentoring, expert consulting, infrastructure access and financial support to help transform high-tech ideas into scalable business. 

Since 2017, ZICER has operated several award-winning accelerator programmes supporting startups in market entry, growth and internationalisation. It also promotes demand-led and citizen-driven innovation through hackathons and challenges addressing smart cities, as well as digital and green technologies.  

Founded by the City of Zagreb, the innovation centre works in close cooperation with public authorities and maintains strong partnerships with academia and industry, including University of Zagreb among other academic institutions, national innovation and finance bodies, and corporate partners.
