In a move to boost international collaboration in innovation and technology, Ambassador Sarimah Akbar paid a working visit to Linköping Science Park, IASP member and one of Sweden’s leading innovation ecosystems, on 3 April 2025. The visit, coordinated by MIDA Stockholm, aimed to deepen bilateral engagement in areas such as digitalisation, smart industry, and sustainable technologies.

During her visit, Ambassador Akbar held productive discussions with Ms. Lena Miranda, CEO of Linköping Science Park and president of IASP board, as well as key industry leaders including Mr. Oskar Fajerson, CEO of Polar Light Technologies, and Mr. Tobias Tybåhl, General Manager of Human Resources at Toyota Material Handling International. Talks focused on building partnerships and fostering knowledge exchange between Malaysia and Sweden’s innovation sectors.

Mr. Khairul Azhar Amil Hamzah, Deputy Director of MIDA Stockholm, presented Malaysia’s dynamic business environment, highlighting the incentives and strategic investment opportunities available to foreign partners. The session underlined Malaysia’s readiness to collaborate in the development of future-oriented technologies and sustainable solutions.

This visit marks another step in strengthening Malaysia’s innovation-driven diplomacy, laying the groundwork for collaborative projects that can benefit both countries’ tech ecosystems.
