In our March 2025 poll, we asked whether IASP members had assessed the economic impact of their AOI/ID/STP via a study – and received affirmation that data and performance studies are a growing priority.
For April’s “Question of the Month,” we turned our attention to communication strategy and asked:
"What methods does your AOI/ID/STP find most effective for visibility and marketing?"
Participants selected from the following:
- Social media (LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
- Events/in-person networking
- Interviews/press releases to traditional media
- Advertising
- Other
Events and in-person networking emerged as the top choice, earning the highest percentage [41%] of the vote. It’s a strong reminder that, even in a digital-first world, real-world connection is still a vital tool for visibility and growth.
Social media came in close behind at nearly 38%, with members using platforms like LinkedIn and Instagram to reach both local and international audiences. These tools continue to provide an authentic connection with these innovation spaces, with cost-effective, high-reach marketing opportunities for promotion, particularly with a clear organic strategy for reaching their audience supporting their overall approach.
Traditional press coverage followed, with approximately 11% choosing interviews and media/press releases to connect with broader audiences. Advertising brought in around 6%, while a small number of participants opted for “Other”, signalling a diverse range of more customised outreach strategies in their portfolio.
