Description:

The role of STPs is undergoing a dynamic transformation. In the past STPs focused on technology as a value per se, in order to build technological assets of their regions. Nowadays STPs have to face new challenges and adapt their activities accordingly. International conflicts, pandemia, shortage of value chains, demographic changes have taught us, that we have to be more flexible and agile in reacting to regional ecosystems needs.

STPs build relationships among different stakeholders, animate quadruple helix ecosystems, and cope with regional challenges. But is aging population a societal challenge that should be included in technology park activities? Should we, tech park experts, tackle with sustainable innovations for elderly people? In this paper, we would like to present innovative approach undertaken by Krakow Technology Park in the area of active healthy aging. Furthermore, we believe that presented activities can be easily transferred and developed in cities and regions worldwide.
